The smart sensor uses an Eprom storing calibration functionnality enabling the sensor to be plugged in any instrument without need for re-calibration. The sensor is connected to the instrument using a detachable sensor cable.

For example, the sensor can be calibrated in the laboratory and plugged in any instrument without the need for recalibration.
This innovation is extremely useful to quality assurance and production staff using instruments and sensors sited in process applications.

The sensor electrolyte reservoir can be refilled and electrodes cleaned without replacing the membrane.
